How it works

  1. Send a photo

    Text or email a photo with the suburb and roughly how much there is.

  2. I check it

    I'll let you know if it's a load I can take. Pickup times are arranged individually.

  3. I take it away

    Accepted pickups are free. The metal gets recycled, not landfilled.

Who I collect from

  • AC installers and service techs

    Old units pulled out on replacement jobs.

  • Electricians and plumbers

    Copper cable, wire and pipe offcuts.

  • Builders and fit-out crews

    Aluminium and copper offcuts from the job.

  • Demolition, strip-out and reno crews

    Metal from the job, before it goes in the skip.

  • Strata and building managers

    Old units and metal left over from building upgrades.

  • Metal from the job headed for the skip? Send a photo and I'll check it.

What I take

Mostly metal

  • Copper

    Pipe, fittings, cable.

  • Aluminium

    Offcuts, extrusions, cable.

  • Brass

    Fittings, valves, taps.

  • Steel and iron

    Offcuts and scrap from the job.

  • Old AC units

    Split systems and outdoor units from ducted systems.

  • Motors and coils

    Motors, compressors and coils.

Not for me

  • Ductwork and flexible duct
  • Anything that isn't mostly metal
  • Hazardous waste, including asbestos and chemicals
  • General rubbish

Some general waste mixed in with a metal load? Send a photo and ask. I check that case by case, and I can't promise it.

Unit still has gas in it? Say so in your message. Gas has to be recovered by a licensed technician before anything is opened. I'll tell you if I can arrange that for your load.

Why I started CoilCycle

I've spent years working around Sydney's waste and recycling, and I've seen a lot of good copper and aluminium go to landfill. CoilCycle is a simple way to get it recycled instead.
